These Terms of Service (the "Extension Terms") govern your installation and use of the WebNovelFinder Companion browser extension (the "Extension"), regardless of which official store you installed it from (Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, Mozilla Add-ons / AMO, Apple App Store). The Extension is a companion to your WebNovelFinder.com account (the "Site" or "WNF"); by using the Extension you also agree to the main WebNovelFinder Terms of Service and the Extension Privacy Policy, each incorporated here by reference.
By installing the Extension and signing in with your WebNovelFinder account, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Extension Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not install or use the Extension — uninstall it from your browser's extensions page and revoke any previously-granted token from Account Settings → Connected apps.
You must have an active WebNovelFinder account to use the Extension, and you must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction to form a binding contract). The account-eligibility provisions in the main Terms of Service apply in full.
Subject to your continued compliance with these Terms, WebNovelFinder grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the Extension on browsers and devices you personally control, solely for tracking your own web novel reading and syncing it to your own WNF account. This license is for use of the Extension as distributed through the official stores; it does not grant any rights to the Extension's source code or to redistribute, repackage, or modify the Extension.

The Extension uses the URL of the chapter page you are viewing to determine your reading position. Detection is best-effort and not contractual: third-party reading sites change their URLs, page structures, and chapter numbering without notice, and your apparent last-read chapter may occasionally lag, jump, or fail to update. Reading positions sync monotonically (they will not go backwards through the Extension), but exact accuracy is not guaranteed. You remain responsible for verifying your reading position when it matters to you.
You are responsible for safeguarding your WebNovelFinder credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account through the Extension. If you suspect your account or the Extension's token has been compromised, revoke the token immediately (see Section 9) and notify us at [email protected]. The credential-safekeeping provisions in the main Terms apply in full.
Your privacy is governed by the dedicated Extension Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Briefly: the Extension reads only the URL of the chapter page on supported reading sites, sends that URL plus your authorization token to webnovelfinder.com to keep your library in sync, and shares nothing with any third party.
The Extension auto-updates through whichever official store you installed it from. New versions may add or change features, may require additional browser permissions (in which case your browser will prompt you to re-grant access before the new version becomes active), and may change the way the Extension works in non-breaking ways. Continued use of the Extension after an update constitutes acceptance of the update.
You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser and/or revoking the bearer token at Account Settings → Connected apps. Revocation is immediate — the Extension will fail authentication on its next API call and stop syncing.
We may suspend or terminate your license to use the Extension at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, if your WebNovelFinder account is suspended or closed, or if continued operation would create a security or legal risk to other users or to WebNovelFinder. We may also retire the Extension entirely on reasonable notice; if we do, the Extension's official store listings will be marked as unpublished and the server-side API endpoints the Extension depends on may be deprecated.
The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every future version of every supported browser or reading site, or that detected reading positions will be perfectly accurate. Third-party reading sites are independent of WebNovelFinder and may change at any time in ways that affect the Extension.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WebNovelFinder and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, reading progress, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Extension, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us for use of the Extension — which, the Extension being free, is zero.
These Terms are governed by, and any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Extension is subject to, the same governing-law, jurisdiction, and venue provisions as the main WebNovelFinder Terms of Service. These Extension Terms supplement, and do not replace, the main WebNovelFinder Terms of Service. Your WebNovelFinder account itself, and your use of webnovelfinder.com, are governed by the main Terms. Where a provision of these Extension Terms conflicts with the main Terms specifically as it applies to the Extension, these Extension Terms control; for all other uses of WNF, the main Terms control.
